Best taqueria in Scranton hands down. Located on a quiet residential street, street parking is easy to find. House made tortilla chips and tortillas that are available to purchase but best to order them for there with their guac. Mini dining room area, good for large groups or small. The family that runs it is so kind and helpful when it comes to menu suggestions! One of my family's go to spots growing up and this visit was just as amazing as the rest! Def show them some love.
This food is so good that if you eat Mexican food anywhere else you're, in some sense, just kidding yourself It is simply the best tasting FRESHEST, most authentic ever

My only regret is that I cannot give it more stars!!!! Excellent food. You can tell the food is cooked with love and they take pride in their business. Excellent value as well - extremely generous portions. Even the way our takeout was packaged was extremely neat and well organized. Lots of extra sauces and utensils/napkins. Highly recommended!!! Remember to tip well!!!
We had made a reservation for a group of 11. They were waiting for us and greeted us with a smile. They had set up a wonderful table. All appetizers and food that was ordered tasted great. Members of the group that did not care for guacamole liked theirs. All ages loved what they ordered. Service was prompt.
My friends and I made reservations here one weekend. The reviews were great so we tried it. Odd little place on a side street. It was clean and decorated nicely.The waitress was friendly and very quick with our drinks,appetizer and food order. The meal was very good. Fresh, hot and plenty of it. We all agreed that it was great and we'd be back. Check this place out!
DELICIOUS!!!! Authentic Mexican food!!! Just what I needed, food from home! Give this place a try and let me know ;) Appetizer was : Queso fundido with Chips & salsa. Then ordered the Soft Tacos (Al pastor) very very delicious! Flavor of the Pastor is authentic on corn homemade tortillas Second plate was : Chicken Flautas. Rolled up on the home made corn tortillas they have different salsas that you must try (some have a good kick to them) My experience was 11/10 definitely recommend and I'll be back when I'm around here Delicioso!
This is a hidden gem near Scranton. We were visiting the Lackawanna Coal Mine nearby and were looking for a place to eat. At first glance we nearly missed it, as it was in a residential neighborhood and looked like a house. We checked it out and are so glad we did! We were promptly seated, the place was cozy and inviting. The food was authentic and very fresh. The guacamole was to die for! I'm a big fan of guacamole and I found this one to be exceptionally creamy and with plenty of delicious lime flavor. Outstanding. I also enjoyed the fish fajitas which were filling and packed with flavor. The chips and salsa were also really good. I asked for hot sauce and they brought me a really nice batch of homemade hotness. Loved it. If we're ever in the area again we'll definitely be back to the Amigo for great Mexican food - I recommend you check it out too!
What a great gem. Being from Miami, we were a bit skeptical of eating at a hidden location that looks like a home. We are just not used to that. We found the restaurant on Yelp and saw the great reviews. Thankfully we decided to give it a try. This is literally a hidden gem. The food was fantastic and the service was great. The salsa and chips are home made. The guacamole was super fresh with a hint of lime. The guacamole was soooo good. Even my son who is 10 was eating most of it. I ordered the chicken fajitas and I subbed out the tortillas for a small salad. Just trying to keep health. The chicken was fresh and the favors delicious. My husband had the grilled fish. He used the tortillas to turn it into tacos. He loved his food as well. I highly recommend trying this small restaurant. The food seems authentic and the flavors delicious.
